Paper Description
Paper Structure
This paper involves a full programme of independent research, as agreed upon between the individual student and the supervisor. A detailed proposal will be developed, which includes a brief outline of the topic/research question, a brief description of the proposed methodology, and an outline of any relevant ethical issues, as well as any other components required by the individual supervisor. This proposal should also include the structure of the proposed research, along with a timeline for the completion of each specific stage.

As SOCPY390 is an individual project conducted under supervision, the utilisation of online support will vary from student to student.
Workload
This paper is worth 15 points. For a 12-week semester, students are expected to devote 25% of a full-time workload to each paper i.e. 10 hours per week throughout the entire semester. For T and S semesters, this doubles to 20 hours per week. Students are expected to manage their workload to allow for this to be undertaken in a timely fashion.
